Free Agents / Transactions
The franchise with the lowest overall season point total after
standings are posted each week will have first choice at any players
not currently on a MFL roster.
Each team can make up to two player additions when it’s their
turn to pick up players each week in reverse order of point standings.
Free agent pick-ups have to be called in by 10pm Thursday evening
Central time.
IF HOWEVER THERE IS A THURSDAY GAME OR GAMES,
free agent pickups will revert back to Wednesday night for
that week only.
After reverse order pickups have been made, any pickups from Friday until game time are first come first serve.
If a contract is not stated at the time of pickup, it is assumed
a one to be a one year contract. Team owners should note in the notes section when picking up a player the desired contract. As a backup, team onwers should also post on the CBS site message board the contract of player you are picking up should there be a dispute.
A player on your roster has to listed as “Out” on the official NFL injury report or becomes
inactive before gametime to be eligible to place him on reserve and pick up
another player from the free agent list for that position.
Teams will be required to show proof by referencing the source in the "notes field" when you pick up a free agent player if you are trying to place a player on reserve.
If you have a player on reserve and that player becomes listed as "full practice" or "limited practice" on the latest NFL official injury report, it is your responsibility
to activate such a player from your reserve before gametime. If a team fails to move the
player back onto their active or reserve roster before game time of the current
week, the commissioner will cut the player
on reserve and send him back into the free agent pool.
All players cut will have to clear waivers for one week before
another team can pick up that same player as a free agent.
If a player is still holding out after the season starts, you
can place him on reserve and pick up another player.
If a team waives a player and another team picks up that same
player, the new team can now assign the player to a new contract.
However, if you cut a player before the mini draft, and redraft
the same player, you have to assume the same contract as before
you cut him. The same applies during the season, unless the player
you cut clears waivers for two weeks. Then you are able to
sign him to a new contract.
Any player picked up during the last four weeks of the
season can only be signed to a one year contract.
Teams can now pick up free agents during the Playoffs or Athletes
Footbowl Championship if a player is listed as “Out” on the NFL injury report or is placed
on the inactive list before game time.
You will no longer be able to place a player on reserve if they are listed as "Doubtful"as the NFL no longer uses that term for the injury report.
Free agent pickups will cost $1.00.
