Starting Lineups

Each week during the season, all team owners are required to update rosters before the deadline on the MFL CBS site for each league. Should the CBS website be down, each franchise owner must post on the MFL message board the intended starting lineup along with noted backup players. Email, or calling in a lineup should be used in extreme emergency situations where web pages do not load and you are not able to update lineups before game time. Each franchise is also responsible to post backups on the MFL Message board at http://mflfootball.com. Owners that still do not have computer access will have to call in lineups to the league commissioner.

If an owner has a player playing in a Thursday or Saturday game, only the player(s) involved in that game must be in the starting lineup on the MFL CBS League site before game time. The remaining players will still have to be updated before kickoff on Sunday.

If a player involved in a Thursday or Saturday night game has not been pulled from your starting lineup before the game starts, it is assumed these players are part of your starting lineup for the current weekend.

If you choose to post on the MFL Message board a player that is playing on Thursday or Saturday night as a backup, you will also have to name your three starters by posting on the message board and updating the starters on the MFL CBS site.

If you fail to update your depth chart on the MFL Message board when setting a starting lineup, and one of your players does not play, or your QB does not start, you will not be credited any points for a backup player on your roster.

Backup players must be updated weekly in order to be eligible for points for the same week. Teams can no longer go back to a previous week to find a backup player on the depth chart.

The status of any player can be changed up until 5 minutes before game time for that player. For example, if one of your quarterbacks is playing on Sunday night and the other one is playing Monday night you can switch which one is Active for the week (assuming you are allowed only one active QB) and which one is Reserve up until 5 minutes before Sunday night's game. But once Sunday night's game begins the status of the QB in Sunday's game is locked and you probably won't be able to change the status of the QB in Monday's game since you can never set an illegal lineup.
